Bob Davis

Bob Davis accepted the role of Sentilla's Chief Executive Officer in 2008. Bob brings nearly 30 years of experience to this position with an exceptional track record of transforming promising startups with great technology into solid business success stories. He comes to Sentilla from CA Inc., (formerly Computer Associates) having risen to Senior Vice President and General Manager of CA's Storage Business Unit following the acquisition of Netreon, where he was President and CEO. Bob also Co-founded and led Kaseya, a managed service pioneer, building it from simply a "good idea" to a successful exit. Prior to Kaseya, Bob amassed Marketing and Sales experience across a range of high-growth companies, expanding on core skills established at Intel and Novell, where he rose from Product Manager to Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing in eight short years.

Bob holds an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Santa Clara, and an B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. His pastimes include caring for his two Rhodesian Ridgebacks -- BIG dogs once used to hunt lions -- and flying airplanes without engines (also known as gliding.)

Joe Polastre

Joe Polastre is Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Sentilla Corporation. Joe is responsible for defining and implementing the global technology strategy and overseeing the product roadmap. Joe’s experience with pervasive computing stems from his deep background with wireless sensor networks, having deployed the first-ever autonomous network on Great Duck Island, Maine, in 2002. In addition to his practical experience, Joe sits on numerous technical boards and commissions and is a tireless evangelist for pervasive computing. His ability to explain the technology in a straightforward and engaging manner puts him in constant demand for speaking engagements worldwide.

Joe holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S in Computer Science from Cornell University. An avid skier and concert-goer, Joe frequently uses the History Channel as a source for market research and unabashedly follows NASCAR.

Cary Liu

Cary Liu joined Sentilla Corporation in 2007 as Senior Vice President, Research and Development. Cary is responsible for delivering all of Sentilla's products and leads the engineering team. Cary has considerable experience with both large and startup companies in building disruptive technologies into market leading products. He was co-founder at NorthStar and served as VP and GM at Ariba. While with BEA Cary initiated and led the successful strategic acquisition of WebLogic, and was subsequently appointed as VP of Product Development for that platform. Prior to that, he led the award winning Enterprise Server group at Netscape in 1996. He started his career in a number of senior OS/communication software management and engineering positions with HaL Computer Systems, Unisys/Convergent, and BNR/Nortel.

Cary received his B.A. degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley and completed the AEA executive management program at Stanford University. Cary tries to stay current musically by reviewing the download log files of his 3 sons and borrowing their iPods.

Cary Liu

Doug Engledow joined Sentilla Corporation in 2008 as Vice President, Sales. In this new role at Sentilla, Doug will concentrate on extending our sales channel and furthering strategic alliances that will expand the company's worldwide market opportunities. He brings more than two decades of domestic and international experience with a background in strategic alliances, business development and executive sales management for both startup and public technology companies. Doug was most recently CA’s vice president of worldwide channel development where he was responsible for OEM Sales and Strategic Alliances focused on the enterprise software market. Prior to that role, Doug was director of storage sales at CA, where he doubled software sales revenue of CA’s storage product line year over year working with Fortune 100 enterprise customers. Earlier in his career, Doug was an award-winning sales executive with Veritas, Sun Microsystems and several successful startups.

Doug received his B.A. degree in Business Administration from Columbia College, and an A.B.S in Electronics from Joliet College. Doug has run five Chicago Marathons (best time 3:39), and when that is insufficiently painful turns to Triathlons for added abuse.

Cary Sharp

Cory Sharp is Co-founder and Principal Architect of Sentilla Corporation. Cory is responsible for the core design of Sentilla’s software platform. It was Cory’s breakthrough insight of treating devices as small computers that led to Java-based programming on low-power pervasive computers. His vision of pervasively using small computers continues to drive his work, and continues to shape Sentilla's software platform.

Cory holds an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Control Systems from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Cory enjoys indoor rock climbing, building his own DVRs, and designing API's while playing Team Fortress 2.

Rob Szewczyk

Rob Szewczyk is Co-founder and Principal Engineer for Sentilla Corporation. Rob is the primary developer behind Sentilla's software platform. Rob’s experience with pervasive computing stems from his groundbreaking work with wireless sensor networks. He co-invented a low-level language for networking and controlling these devices in 1999 that is still in use today. His deep expertise created the foundation on which Sentilla created its Java-based pervasive computing platform.

Rob holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S in Computer Science from Cornell University. An incurable tinkerer, Rob is frequently found wielding a Dremel tool and loves fire.

Dave Binetti

Dave Binetti is Director of Marketing for Sentilla Corporation. Dave is responsible for Sentilla's go-to-market activities and product management. Always on the forefront of new technology, he has closely followed the pervasive computing industry since its early days at Berkeley in 2000, and comes to Sentilla from Arch Rock, a wireless sensor networking company. Prior to that, Dave founded his own campaign management application service provider, Capitolix, and co-founded and ran a private entity that created what is today usa.gov, the official web portal of the US Government. Dave began his career and earned his marketing credentials at Intuit as part of the seven-person team in 1994 that launched personal finance on the Internet as quicken.com.

Dave holds an MBA from UCLA and a B.A. in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley. When not at the office, Dave can be found either at Cal football games (Go Bears!), fixing up his house, or singing barbershop harmony with his award-winning chorus.
