Position: Technical Support Engineer

As a Technical Support Engineer at Sentilla, you will be assisting our customers in the use of our hardware and software products to develop a wide variety of pervasive computing solutions. You will be engaging with leading universities, system integrators, and large enterprise customers that are developing intelligent solutions to solve real world problems.

Qualified candidates have demonstrated expertise and experience in providing support for both hardware and software products in the real time, network, or embedded systems and applications. The ideal candidate enjoys helping and interacting with customers in solving interesting problems, and has good composure and professionalism in dealing with them. Candidate must be technically competent, and possess the ability to learn, understand, and provide answers to detailed questions on products and specifications.

Qualified candidates need to be hands-on, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment.

Principal responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Sentilla application developers
  • Provide phone, email, and newsgroup support for customers with good follow up and follow through
  • Write sample/test applications, helper scripts/code
  • Installation and test of new firmware
  • Occasional application of technician skills (e.g. logic analyzer, probing, soldering)
  • Provide support for existing, new, and Beta products and launches
  • Provide and update support FAQs

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in CS/engineering/technical science, or equivalent
  • 2+ years software technical support experience with 1+ year in supporting hardware or systems
  • Good coding skills in C, C++, Java, and scripting language on UNIX/Linux or Windows
  • Hardware debugging skills and the ability to triage HW/SW issues and interactions
  • Fast learner and flexibility, with an ability to adapt to new areas and technologies
  • New college graduates with above HW/SW/personal skills and interests can apply
  • Collaborative team player with the ability and interest to work well with customers, sales, and engineering, and have some fun!
